The soldier and singer with Minnesota roots, Timothy Poe, sang George Strait’s “The Chair” on Tuesday night’s episode of “America’s Got Talent” in hopes of being one of the top 48 to move forward with the competition, but the judges didn’t make that happen, E!online reported.
“I don’t know that he holds up to other singers on this show at all,” said judge Howie Mandel while evaluating Poe, in this Associated Press story.
Here’s more about the controversy that developed when Poe claimed on the show that he was wounded as a soldier in Afghanistan. The military said that didn’t happen.
Poe finally said in a tearful interview that he wasn’t sure what the truth was anymore.
