Hot, hot, hot! No end in sight for uncomfortable weather

As if it weren’t bad enough that the 4th of July holiday is coming right in the middle of the week this year…It could be one of the hottest 4th of July holidays in decades.

Paul Douglas tweeted late Sunday that there was a 60% chance that we’d top the 100 degree mark today and it may feel as hot as 110 degrees by 6 p.m.

The hot and ugly weather is expected to continue throughout the week and possibly into next weekend, with only a small chance of rain and storms along the way. If there are any storms on the horizon, you’ll see the alerts here first from the National Weather Service.

The blast of heat combined  with smoke from the wildfires out west is expected to drop Minnesota’s Air Quality over the coming days. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality advisory for the region. Keep an eye on the agency’s air quality tracker for updates.

So, is the heat really that bad? Kare11 headed out to the Twins game to visit with the throngs of people crammed into the shady spots at Target Field. Most weren’t complaining…too much.
