Garrison Keillor lends voice to fight against marriage amendment

Radio host Garrison Keillor is offering his voice in the fight against the marriage amendment, MinnPost reports. He’s offering to record a voicemail message for the winner of a contest. Contest entrants must make a donation to Minnesotans United for all Families, which is leading a campaign to defeat the ballot measure. The measure would amend the state constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and woman.

Keillor gave $1,250 to the campaign against the measure, WCCO recently reported.

In other news, the war of words over the title of the ballot measure is intensifying. The way the measure is worded could affect the outcome of the November vote, MinnPost reports. Leading supporters of the amendment recently filed a lawsuit over the name of the measure.

Elsewhere in the state, nearly 150 people in Bemidji gathered to show their unity in opposition of the proposed amendment, the Bemidji Pioneer reports.

And The Atlantic magazine is profiling a group of church ladies in the Twin Cities suburbs who oppose the measure.
