Columnist: Minnesotans are summer-weather wimps

When Minnesotans hear that the temperature is about to drop to 30 degrees below zero they’re more likely to say “Bring it on” rather then “Oh, no,” MinnPost journalist Karen Boros writes. But give us a few weeks of hot weather and we are hopeless wimps.

July is on pace to break a record in the Northland, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

There’s more hot weather to come: A heat index near 100 is expected again Wednesday in the south central part of the state, the National Weather Service says.

There’s a small chance for thunderstorms through Wednesday, with the temperature hovering near 90 most of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect a hot weekend with highs in the mid-90s, WCCO says:
