The Hill newspaper, which covers politics and government in Washington, has unveiled its ninth annual “50 Most Beautiful People” list, a collection of attractive – mostly young – politicians, staffers, lobbyists and bureaucrats. It’s a trivial feature for inside-the-beltway types who get bored when Washington slows down in the summer, but it offers a glimpse at the more glamorous side of life in the nation’s capital.
Minnesota’s Michele Bachmann is among them.
The newspaper notes that “nothing about her presidential-campaign wardrobe looked bargain-basement. Not only did she hire Fox News Channel makeup artist Tamara Robertson for her 2012 bid, she also debuted a sleeker, trendier hairdo that inspired attention from the likes of the New York Daily News, which ran an article last year on women asking their hairdressers to replicate Bachmann’s look.”
Bachmann has drawn attention before for her looks. Allure magazine said she among the “best tressed” politicians.
Last year, Newsweek ran a controversial cover photo of Bachmann that captured her looking wide-eyed and shell-shocked.
