Bachmann, Cain to rally Tea Party at Republican convention

How does the GOP solve a problem like the Tea Party? Invite ’em to the big bash.

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is scheduled to join fellow former GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain in Tampa next month as featured draws for the “Unity” Tea Party rally at the Republican National Convention, the Star Tribune reports.

It’s designed to encourage Tea Party faithful to set aside any rivalries with the GOP establishment – but also “show the Republican Party that the only way they can connect with the American people is through the Tea Party.”

Meanwhile, Washington Post celeb-and-style column The Reliable Source takes on The Hill’s “50 Most Beautiful” in Washington list, which included Bachmann.
