Who were the original owners of the Minnesota Vikings?

The founding group of Vikings owners included Max Winter, E. William Boyer, H.P Skoglund, Ole Haugsrud and Bernard H. Ridder, Jr.

In this 2011 blog posting, former Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton remembers how each man came to their position, and calls Winter a “tough street fighter.”

Sports Illustrated columnist Steve Rushin wrote in 2010 (as Favre Year 2 was winding down) that the Vikings had most of their success when owned — in part — by the “perfectly named” Max Winter. It’s required reading as Minnesota fans head into another season filled with promise. Rushin also believes the new outdoors Vikings stadium should echo corporate, and be named “Winter Park.”
