Carly Rae Jepsen featured on new Owl City album

When Owl City’s Adam Young — of Owatonna — wrote the track ‘Good Time’ for his new album he thought Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen would be the perfect person to join him on the song. Turns out, she’s a fan of Owl City and has been to a couple of shows. “She killed it on the track…She did a great job,” Young said.

Young and Owl City found mainstream fame in 2009 when their hit single “Fireflies” went quadruple-platinum. Here they are performing it live in Minneapolis:

Jepsen’s fame skyrocketed earlier this year when her addictive pop song “Call Me Maybe” became a target for remix videos on YouTube. The “Call Me Maybe” trend is believed to have started video spoof of President Obama singing the song:

The parodies have been viewed on YouTube hundreds of millions times. Goldy Gopher even got in on the fun.
