Kurt Bills has borrowed a page from the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., in creating a similar ad to a humorous, effective spot Wellstone first used in 1990.
The “Quick Kurt” ad pays tribute to Wellstone, the Bills campaign says.
In his ad, Bills plays the energetic underdog and tries to draw several distinctions with his opponent incumbent Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Bills faces a number of hurdles, including a vast fundraising disadvantage, the Fargo Forum reports.
The Bills ad is available online, but it could run on TV in September, the Associated Press reports.
