Australia beats Russian Wolves in Olympics hoops

San Antonio Spurs’ Patrick Mills hit a 3-point buzzer-beater to lift Australia to a dramatic 82-80 victory over undefeated Russia on Monday at the London Games. The United States is now the only unbeaten team in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament. Future Timberwolves Alexey Shved and Andrei Kirilenko each scored 13 points for the Russians.

The Americans and Russians could meet in gold medal game. Jim Souhan of the Star Tribune notes that would mean three Timberwolves in the Olympic final: Kevin Love of the U.S. as well as Alexey Shved and Andrei Kirilenko of Russia.
