University of Iowa stumbles up to No. 2 on party school rankings

The University of Iowa has inched its way up two spots to claim the No. 2 spot on the Princeton Review’s 2013 list of top party schools, the Des Moines Register reports.

West Virginia University is the No. 1 party school. The University of Wisconsin-Madison was No. 13. There were no Minnesota schools on the top party schools list, or the most-sober schools list.

University of Iowa officials are not pleased, Iowa City Patch reports.

The 2013 edition of “The Best 377 Colleges,” which goes on sale Tuesday, has 62 ranking lists based on surveys of 122,000 students during the last school year, the Associated Press reports. Students answered 80 questions about academics, administration, campus life, student body and themselves. The AP also lists the top 20 “stone-cold sober” campuses.

In other news, the University of North Dakota ranked No. 2 on a list of schools where students study the least, the Fargo Forum reports.
