Bachmann’s star undimmed at RNC

Eight months after she left the presidential race, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann still retains a celebrity-like following among many Republicans, MPR reports. Bachmann was warmly welcomed at tea party movement and pro-life group events at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

Bachmann earlier this week fired up the Tea Party crowd.

The congresswoman bailed Tuesday on CNN host Piers Morgan, Politico says. Asks Morgan, “Why are all these Republicans suddenly bailing on me? Is it my accent, my tie, my love of cricket?”

A Bachmann spokeswoman said she was ill. But she gave other interviews Tuesday. She told CNBC the Tea Party has been wildly successful.

She told Fox News (below) that single women prefer Obama because they want security and jobs. A Fox polls shows Obama at 48 percent among likely female voters compared to 42 percent for Romney.
