A wild fire in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness continues to grow. Northlands News Center reports the fire covers 40 acres near Cummings Lake while firefighters on the ground make progress on creating a control line. The fire has grown 10 acres since Monday.
The TV station says conditions remain very dry but wind is expected to die down.
The Duluth News Tribune says the BWCA is still open for canoe travel and camping. If the area does not see more rain, restrictions on campfires could be enforced.
