St. Paul school buses run late for 2nd day

St. Paul Public schools ran into issues with their contracted bus company for a second day in a row. The Pioneer Press reports the district had significant delays of 20 minutes or more on 20 bus routes Wednesday. In an automated message to parents, the district says the issues are caused by unfamiliar drivers trying to navigate construction areas in St. Paul.

St. Paul Deputy of Schools tells the newspaper that the district turned over some of the routes serviced by Minnesota Central Bus Company temporarily while they resolve their issues.

The regional director of Minnesota Central Bus Company tells WCCO-TV that the company was just awarded the contract a month ago and drivers didn’t get their routes until a few days ago.

Buses dispatched by Minnesota Central Bus never showed up on about 10 different routes and several others were delayed on Tuesday.
