Minnetonka artist David Holmes always knew that his wide driveway would make a spectacular canvas. Six years after he bought the house, he’s created a sidewalk chalk masterpiece: a giant recreation of the Mona Lisa, KARE 11 reports. It took him about four hours and he did it for his own amusement, and that of his neighbors, he said.
He’s got a lot of competition (although maybe not in Minnetonka). Check out these jaw-dropping 3-D chalk drawing images.
And here’s a 1-minute time-lapse video of Julian Beever in Redondo Beach, Calif., whipping through a creation that took three days.
