Bob Dylan strikes back at critics

Music legend Bob Dylan opens up like never before in a new Rolling Stone interview on a wide range of topics, the magazine says. He covers John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen, the movie “I’m Not There,” and being picked up by the police in New Jersey in 2009. He also says he was “transfigured” at about the time of a 1966 motorcycle accident, the magazine says.

And Dylan lashes out for the first time at critics who say he borrows from others’ work, calling them “wussies” and another worse word, CBS says.

Rolling Stone has a few takes from the interview online here. The magazine hits newsstands on Friday.

The Minnesota native also says the stigma of slavery has ruined America, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

Dylan is promoting his new album “Tempest.” He’ll be in concert in St. Paul on Sept. 15.
