NDSU campus reopens after bomb threat, evacuation

Students at North Dakota State University in Fargo were evacuated Friday morning from classes after a bomb threat was made, the Valley News reports. An emergency message sent to students and posted on the university’s website ordered all students and employees to leave campus by 10:15 am.

Campus opened again at 1 p.m. and classes were to resume at 2 p.m., WDAY reports. About 20,000 had rushed off university property, WDAY says.

The evacuation covered the school’s downtown buildings and agricultural facilities, the Star Tribune notes.

A similar incident was reported at about the same time at the University of Texas at Austin, CNN reports.

Officials were trying to determine if the two threats were linked, WDAY reported.
