Minnesota schools start push for referendums

St. Paul Public Schools officially kicked off its campaign for a renewal and extension of a property tax levy Saturday, KARE 11 reports.

School officials tell KARE that the the $30 million it is seeking in the levy will continue to fund pre- and all-day kindergarten and special education, keep math and science class sizes down, and help with new technology.

The Minnesota School Boards Association says there are 40 districts across the state that have an operating levy question on the November ballot.
