Authorities found two bodies Sunday near a capsized canoe near the Sawbill Lake entrance to the Boundary Waters. Now they have been identified as a couple from Forest Lake — 55-year-old Thomas Pineault and 51-year-old Cynthia Pineault, the Star Tribune reports.
Two passing canoeists discovered the bodies, MPR reported.
The bodies had life jackets and had been in the water more than 24 hours, the Duluth News Tribune reported. Windy conditions and a temperature drop could have been factors, the newspaper reports.
