25 Years Ago: Who was the MVP of the 1987 ALCS?

C) Gary Gaetti was named the ALCS MVP in 1987 after starting the series in historic fashion. In Game 1 at the Metrodome, he was the first player to hit home runs in his first two playoff at bats. Gaetti’s performance sparked the Twins to an unlikely upset of the heavily-favored Tigers, winning the best-of-seven series in just five games.
