Ponder blames accuracy issues on poor footwork

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder says poor footwork on his part was a big factor in Minnesota’s loss to Washington Sunday.

On the day, Ponder had a fumble and two interceptions and saw three first quarter drives stall in the Washington red zone without coming away with touchdowns.

“I’m not making bad decisions,” Ponder told reporters at Winter Park Wednesday. “It’s just something that’s easily correctable.  The one that I threw short to Kyle (Rudolph), I flipped my feet around. I should have just did it on the run and threw off balance. It’s all footwork.”

As for this week’s opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, Ponder said he expects to face a difficult defense. “This is going to be a tough challenge for us,” Ponder said. “This is a big part why they’re 4-2 right now.”
