Sometimes a coach needs to go a little crazy to spark a team. Case in point, Wednesday night at Target Center, when Minnesota’s Cheryl Reeve flipped out in the third quarter over a technical foul. Let’s go to the videotape:
In the end, the Lynx won the game, 83-71. Seimone Augustus was the star — with 27 points — but the crowd of 13-thousand plus at Target Center went wild for Reeve’s meltdown as much as anything.
Afterwards, Augustus told GamedayGold’s Eric Nelson, “She always pulls these antics and it always works out where the team gets fired up. The fans were into it and it really helped the momentum of the game.”

Pioneer Press writer Tom Powers called the game “controlled mayhem,” adding that he thought the Lynx and Fever and Reeve and the officials would “just continue the battle out on First Avenue.”
Adds Patrick Reusse of the Star Tribune: “The Reeve outburst was more fun than seeing the Stratosphere stuck at the State Fair.”
Game 3? Friday night in Indianapolis.
