Mpls. man sentenced for trying to solicit Little Leaguers on Facebook

The Crystal Police Department said a Minneapolis man accused of trying to contact Crystal Little League baseball players through Facebook to have sex has pleaded guilty to charges and has been sentenced, KARE-TV reported.

Michael F. Hamer, 44, will serve 120 days in the workhouse and is required to register as a sex offender. Plus, he is forbidden to have contact with minors for the next 10 years.

Hamer was arrested and charged in July with solicitation of a child for sex and possessing child pornography.

The man was arrested following an online sting set up by Crystal police, where an officer pretended to be a 12-year-old boy.

According to KARE, police said Hamer engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with the officer posing as the boy. Police said Hamer was arrested after he asked the “boy” to meet him at the park, but was met by officials instead.
