Ex-Burger King worker robs McDonald’s

A former Burger King employee with a record has been sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison for her part in an armed robbery of of a McDonald’s in southeastern Minnesota, the Star Tribune reports.

Quiana Evans, 30, of Rochester, was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in St. Paul after pleading guilty to joining an her accomplice in the robbery of a McDonald’s in Byron in June 2011.

The pair stole $1,851.68, including personal property belonging to the restaurant employees, according to a prosecutor’s press release.

Her defense attorney Peter Wold in a court filing said that prior to the robbery his client had been desperate after losing her job at Burger King and being evicted from her home, the Star Tribune reported.
