St. Paul candy maker Pearson’s whipped up a special “Willy Wonka”-style promotion in celebration of its iconic Nut Goodie bar’s 100th birthday, and now about 100 lucky people will get a rare glimpse inside the plant, WCCO reports.
Pearson’s CEO and President Michael Keller told the station that there is nothing like watching the candy-making process through the eyes of a child.
“To see their smiles, or to see their jaws drop when they see candy being made, is kind of what it’s all about,” he told WCCO.
Last fall, 10 Nut Goodie fans matched a special code in their candy wrappers to win a tour of the candy factory. Another 10 won through an auction. Each of those 20 get to bring a handful of friends.
The tours – the first offered to the general public in 40 years – will be in the next two weeks, a spokeswoman told BringMeTheNews.
