A British sketch artist’s rendering of every one of Prince’s hairstyles has caught the attention of the music icon while on his tour in London.
Gary Card created the “Prince Hair Chart” – caricatures of Prince and his 36 different hairdos from 1978 to 2013 – and posted a video version of it (accompanied by a music clip of ‘When Doves Cry’) on Instagram two months ago.
But when the hair chart found its way to Prince via social media Thursday, the Minneapolis music dynamo tweeted it to his followers. Prince removed the tweet from his account some time later, but not before Card got word of it.
Prince just tweeted about my Prince poster!

The full version of the purple-shaded poster also found its way to fans through a tweet from Billboard music journalist Keith Caulfield.

Prince kicked off a slew of yet-to-be announced gigs in London by playing the home of British soul singer Lianne La Havas Wednesday night in front of about 10 people. He told the three journalists in attendance that he’ll continue to play larger venues as long as people will have him.
“We’ll work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues,” Prince said.
Prince is touring London in support of his forthcoming album, “Plectrum Electrum.” The gigs, wherever he plays, will only cost fans $10 each, the BBC says.
On Sunday in New York City, Prince played a couple tracks from the album and celebrated his acclaimed appearance on the sitcom “New Girl” at a post-Super Bowl party.
