Jack Jablonski nets celebrity date for his high school prom

Jack Jablonski, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s student who was paralyzed during a high school hockey game two years ago, will be taking a notable date to the senior prom.

During his regular appearance on the “Mike and Bob Show” on Sports Radio 105 The Ticket, Jablonski joined former Vikings offensive lineman Mike Morris and Pioneer Press columnist Bob Sansevere for his regular “Hockey Night in Minnesota with Jack Jablonski” segment. ESPN anchor Michelle Beadle was also on the air with them.

After some hockey talk, the mood changed as Barry White’s “Can’t get enough of your love, babe” started to play. Knowing what was coming, Sansvere joked that Jablonski’s face was turning as red as his Red Knights sweatshirt.

The 18-year-old Minnesota celebrity was about to ask Beadle to his high school prom.

“I’d formally like to invite you to my prom,” Jablonski nervously requested, “but I know you’re busy,” he added.

“Seriously. I would love it,” Beadle answered. “Oh my god, can I wear like an 80s dress to the prom?”

“They’re going to be like, ‘Why’d you bring a chaperone, Jack?’”

Beadle is a high-profile catch. The 38-year-old has over 800,000 followers on Twitter and is best known for her role as host of ESPN’s “SportsNation,” as well as a stint with NBC where she appeared regularly on “Access Hollywood” and “Entertainment Tonight.” She has recently returned to ESPN.
