Two roller coasters are back in operation at Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee after encroaching flood waters from the Minnesota River shut the rides down, the Shakopee Valley News reports.
The Renegade and Excalibur roller coasters – as well as the Thunder Canyon water ride and parts of the Valleyfair parking lot – were closed because of rising floodwaters after the June 19 storms.
The parking lot is also available again, but Thunder Canyon remains closed. The park is working to get the ride open again by next week, Valleyfair spokeswoman Robin Stinnett tells the Valley News.
Stinnett tells KARE 11 that the roller coasters avoided any damage because they were built with materials that weren’t impacted by the flooding.
