LeBron makes it official: He won’t be leaving Kevin Love (or the Cavs)

LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Championship last season, and he’ll have a chance to lead the Cavaliers to repeat.

James made the news that almost everyone suspected official – announcing Thursday he is signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports James agreed to a 3-year, $100-million deal with the Cavs. It will make him the highest paid player in the league.

LeBron’s decision to stay with the Cavaliers was not a surprise, especially after finally leading the Cavaliers to the NBA title. According to The Big Lead, there is no word on if the deal contains any opt-outs.

“After finally bringing a championship to Cleveland, James can write his own ticket there. No one there will ever complain about his salary even if he gets injured or his play somehow rapidly declines. We all knew he was going to re-sign, it was just a matter of when and  how much. No we know, and no one can argue that he hasn’t earned that big paycheck.”
