A Twin Cities youth pastor is one of 20 castaways on the upcoming season of “Survivor.”
The 33rd season of the CBS reality show is themed “Millennials vs. Gen X” and pits the two groups against each other.
According to her “Survivor” bio, the 45-year-old from Otsego’s main reason for joining the show is a shot at $1 million.
That’s the grand prize only one contestant can win.
Burquest says she’s also been a fan since season one and wanted to prove to herself that she could do it.
And the youth pastor thinks she has a pretty good shot at winning because of her strong personality and good people skills.
“Definitely some of the players are my kids’ age, I can tell,” Burquest says in the introductory video above.
According to her cast video, Burquest has four kids.
She is also a breast cancer survivor.
“I’m already a survivor, just want to add another survivor title to my name,” the youth pastor says.
She’s up against a Boston police sergeant, a former Playboy model, a “Family Guy” writer, a professional gamer, and an 18-year-old.
The latest season will premier Wednesday Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. on CBS.
