Saturday brings a taste of fall, rain and thunderstorms

Showers and cooler temperatures will give Minnesotans a brief taste of fall today.

With highs in the 60s, it will be the coolest day since June 1, when the high hit 67 in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

But the bigger impact will be the rain.

Nearly the whole state will be affected by showers and isolated thunderstorms throughout the day.

In the Twin Cities the chance of precipitation is 100 percent and new rainfall amounts could be between a quarter and half an inch.

There are still some watches and warnings across the state, including a flood warning through Aug. 24 and 25 for Hennepin, Wright and Carver counties.

This is based on heavy rainfall last week that went into the Crow River basin, combined with the rain that has happened and more that is expected to come. It’s mainly areas around the South Fork Crow River.
