That hurts… The Twins gave up a go-ahead inside-the-park home run

Some call it a Little League home run others would simply call it an inside-the-park home run; but regardless, the Twins lost in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Despite leading by 5-runs at one point, the Blue Jays eventually crawled their way back.

In the bottom of the 8th, Minnesota led by one-run with the tying run at 3rd base and Melvin Upton Jr. representing the go-ahead run at the plate for Toronto. Upton dropped a bloop hit in right field that Max Kepler misplayed.

Kepler dove towards the ball which ended up bouncing over his glove and towards the warning track; when Kepler went to retrieve the baseball, he kicked it away allowing Upton to trot all the way home giving the Blue Jays the lead for good.

Kepler owned up for the miscue in the post game reminding reporters and fans how cruel the game of baseball can be.

With the loss, the Twins have matched their season long losing streak of 9 games and are 48-80 on the season.
