The lineup for the big Prince tribute concert in October is slowly coming together.
And while most of his Paisley Park cohorts plan to be part of the event at U.S. Bank Stadium, his former drummer Sheila E says she will miss the festivities.
MPR’s The Current says a newsletter from the Minnesota State Arts Board revealed some of those who will be performing, including Morris Day and the Time, The Revolution, and New Power Generation along with “prominent pop stars of today on guest vocals.”
And while the Arts Board listed Sheila E as well, she is scheduled to perform outside of New York on Oct. 13 and said on Facebook she will miss the Minneapolis event.
Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, announced the tribute concert a month ago. The Star Tribune notes Nelson indicated more details would follow in August. But a former attorney for Prince tells the Associated Press information about the musical lineup and tickets will be coming after Labor Day.
