A bunch of Mularkey: Titans coach expects Bradford to start

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer won’t announce who will start at quarterback on Sunday when the Vikings visit Tennessee to open their 2016 season.

But Tennessee Titans coach Mike Mularkey really isn’t buying it. Mularkey told ESPN’s Ben Goessling that he expects Sam Bradford will start.

“The number of starts [he’s had], he’s a very intelligent quarterback, he’s faced this defense before,” Mularkey said. “They wouldn’t give up a [No.] 1 and a [No.] 4 pick to have him sit very long. He’s had a very good preseason – really, both quarterbacks had good preseasons. I would anticipate [Bradford starts], and if he doesn’t, it’s not going to change how we prepare.”

Both quarterbacks say they are preparing and will be ready to start if they are called upon. Bradford added that he’s feeling more comfortable after a couple of days of practice.

“Obviously, just being around here for a couple days, it just helps, seeing cutups, watching film, having meetings, talking to coaches, running plays, getting some reps in practice,” he said.

But ESPN notes that Hill is still taking a lot of reps with the first team.

Still it seems Pro Football Talk agrees with the Titans coach, noting all of the talk about not announcing who’s going to start at quarterback might just be a bunch of… well, malarkey.

We’ll find out Sunday.
