Vikings sign center Joe Berger to 1-year contract extension

It looks like Joe Berger has a little job security with the Minnesota Vikings. The team announced that Berger has signed a 1-year contract extension with Minnesota.

Berger enters his 12th season in the NFL and has 54 career starts and has played in 115 career games; 34 of those starts have been with the Vikings.

The deal comes after Berger beat out John Sullivan for the job as Minnesota’s starting center. He replaced Sullivan last season after the former all-pro missed the entire season after undergoing multiple back surgeries.

Berger came in and did a good job for Sullivan as he was named to his first Pro Bowl. Sullivan was released by the Vikings last week.

The Vikings open the regular season Sunday at Tennessee.
