The hits keep on coming to the Minnesota Vikings. Just moments after it was reported that Adrian Peterson needs surgery on his right knee, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer announced that left tackle Matt Kalil has been placed on injured reserve.
“We assume it will be, yes,” Zimmer said when asked if Kalil will miss the rest of the season.
According to Yahoo’s Charles Robinson, Kalil’s history with hip injuries are hurting him again.
Vikings sign Ronnie Hillman
With Peterson out the Vikings have signed ex-Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman. He rushed for 863 yards and 7 touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per carry last season.
His best game was arguably against the Vikings, when he carried the ball 11 times for 103 yards including a 72-yard touchdown run.
Jerick McKinnon will be the starting running back against Carolina this Sunday.
