January 26, 1992. Super Bowl XXVI. Minneapolis, Minn. Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Forget about the game. The Washington Redskins won it, 37-24 over the hapless Buffalo Bills. The real fun was taking in that super-awesome halftime show, featuring the talents of Dorothy Hamil, Brian Boitano and Gloria Estefan.
Suffice to say, it was the last halftime show that was anything less than boffo — as Michael Jackson took the stage at Super Bowl XXVII. Here’s what happened in Minneapolis on that Sunday so long ago. It’s “Winter Magic” — in two parts — courtesy YouTube. Enjoy.
