A video of Joe Biden's appearance in Minnesota was manipulated to make it look like he said the wrong place name, and was shared widely on social media by right-wing pundits and politicians Sunday.
The video used footage from Biden's speech in St. Paul Friday, but was manipulated so the sign behind Biden was changed so instead of saying "Text MN to 30330", it instead said "Tampa, Florida."
It was then shared by supporters of President Donald Trump, mocking the Democratic presidential nominee for taking to the stage and saying "Hello, Minnesota!"
The video has subsequently been given a "manipulated media" warning by Twitter, but not before it had been viewed more than 1 million times.
Among those sharing the video was Minnesota House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, although the tweet he shared has since been deleted after it became apparent it was doctored. Daudt's tweet however, was still up as of 6:40 p.m.
There are myriad inconsistencies that made the video easy to debunk. You can read the Associated Press' full fact checking article here.
Minnesota GOP chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan also shared the video, but later acknowledged that the footage was manipulated.
