St. Paul, Ryan Cos. finalize Saints ballpark contract

The City of St. Paul has finalized a design contract with Ryan Companies to build the new home for the St. Paul Saints in Lowertown, KSTP reports. Construction on the 7,250-seat ballpark is set to begin this fall and slated to be completed by the spring of 2015.

WCCO says the $54 million project is expected to create 500 full and part-time jobs.

Below is the anticipated construction timeline of the new ballpark, according to a news release from St. Paul.

Spring 2013

  • Environmental assessment worksheet (EAW) process begins
  • Schematic design begins
  • Diamond Products abatement process and demolition

 Summer 2013

  • Soil remediation

Fall 2013

  • Design is completed
  • Construction begins

 Summer 2014

  • Install scoreboard
  • Install seating

Fall 2014

  • Install playing field

Winter 2014

  • Construction will be substantially complete
  • Saints move offices from Midway to Lowertown

Spring 2015

  • Ballpark opens
