Adorkable: Prince's new duet with 'New Girl' star now available

Minnesota's own Purple One ended his recent "New Girl" guest spot by playing a snippet of a duet with the show's star, Zooey Deschanel.

Now, you can hear more than just a snippet. Prince premiered the full version of the Deschanel-backed track, called "FALLINLOVE2NITE," via iHeartRadio.

Slate called the song "an appropriately funky duet" when it aired on the show (or at least 60 seconds of it), and said "the dance track blends Deschanel and the Purple One's vocals together nicely." Gigwise describes it as "a classic smooth Prince vibe, horn section and vintage chorus but pulsing with a dancey EDM beat."

One interesting note from Dr. Funkenberry: The single was released online by Epic Records – a major music label, despite Prince having worked independently for years now.

Prince has been playing small gigs around London, and could be adding more. He's been playing the gigs with his band, 3rdEyeGirl, in advance of his new album "Plectrum Electrum" – which still doesn't have an official release date.

Deschanel, by the way, isn't any stranger to music herself. The 34-year-old is one half of the musical duet She & Him.

If you missed it, here's the scene from the "New Girl" episode.
