Axe-throwing and alcohol, what could possibly go wrong?

Styling itself as "like bowling, but edgier," national chain Bad Axe Throwing is close to opening its new location in Minneapolis.

It's taking bookings from budding axe-throwers ahead of opening day on March 10.

So how does it work?

As the Twin Cities Eater explains, participants will each be given two targets and a tutorial on proper throwing techniques at what it describes as "like a dart league on steroids."

You can book one or more of the multiple lanes for available to throw some axes at its location at 2502 Kennedy St. NE, Suite A.

Initially, you'll have to bring your own beer and wine if you want to drink (no hard liquor allowed – probably wisely).

But eventually, the company is hoping to get a license to open a bar at the site.

According to its website, the Minneapolis Bad Axe Throwing will be the company's biggest, with 8,000 square foot of axe throwing space.

It started off in Canada in 2014, looking to bring a "traditional Canadian backyard pastime to urban communities."
