It looks like Brendan Dassey, who was featured on the hit Netflix show Making a Murderer, could be on his way to getting out of prison.

On Thursday, a federal appeals court ruled in favor of Dassey. That means he'll be released from prison unless the State of Wisconsin decides to retry him within 90 days, according to FOX 11.

Last year, a federal judge overturned Dassey's conviction, saying his confession in the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach was coerced. But the state appealed to the federal appeals court, and on Thursday it issued its ruling affirming what the lower court had said.

You can read the entire 128-page ruling here.

Dassey's attorney tweeted the news:

Dassey was serving a life sentence in prison for helping his uncle Steven Avery kill Halbach. Avery's attorney also tweeted about the appeals court ruling.
