International Falls couple wins BringMeTheNews' $500 trip contest

For better or worse. Newlyweds AJ and Courtney Knutson have already seen a little of both.

The International Falls couple got married in September, and AJ lost his paper mill job not long after. Honeymoon plans fell through.

But the two just won a BringMeTheNews $500 trip contest – and now they are planning a Las Vegas getaway.

"We're going to walk the Strip, see a Cirque du Soleil show, see the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam," Courtney tells us.

The desert heat beckons the young couple after a long winter in International Falls, a city that earned its "Icebox of the Nation" nickname this season.

"For December, January and a good part of February, we were below 20, and with the wind chill, it was like 40 below," Courtney said. "I'm ready to go south."

Congrats, AJ and Courtney. Enjoy Vegas. And thanks for reading BringMeTheNews!
