A fork made out of fries? What a time to be alive!
Yes, the "Frork" is the newest marketing invention by McDonald's. It's a utensil featuring three prongs made from fries, designed to help diners mop up the sauce that inevitably falls out of their sandwiches without getting their hands messy.
Needless to say, this new invention is very much tongue-in-cheek, and pretty funny from McDonald's.
The Frork is being used to publicize its three new Signature Crafted Recipes sandwiches, which come with toppings including pico guacamole, sweet BBQ bacon and maple bacon Dijon.
And to really hammer home the ridiculousness of the product, the fast-food giant hired legendary informercial pitchman Anthony Sullivan to market it for an infomercial that aired in New York Sunday (or you can watch it in the YouTube video below). It's the first ever informercial forMcDonald's.
"Will the Frork change your life? Probably not," he says. "Will the Frork improve your Signature Crafted Recipes eating experience? I mean, sure ... maybe!"
Although you won't find them becoming as ubiquitous as Big Macs and Happy Meals at McDonald's restaurants from here on out, a select number of McDonald's nationwide will actually be giving away some Frorks with every Signature Crafted Recipe sandwich this Friday.
