Don Shelby respectfully declines holiday party invite, Ron Burgundy style

Don Shelby is a pretty popular guy.

So popular, in fact, a longtime fan has been trying to get the former TV anchor to make an appearance at his Christmas party for years.

This year, a beautifully-produced invitation, featuring a Christmas tune only Shelby could love, was sent out.

Unfortunately, Shelby was forced to decline. Not because he's too cool, but because he'll be in New York City with BringMeTheNews Founder Rick Kupchella for the premiere of "Anchorman 2."

So, in other words, he's too cool, but nice enough to send a response in the spirit of the event.
