A larger-than-life Minnesota news anchor is about to take on the voice role of a larger-than-life lumberjack.

The Pioneer Press reports that Don Shelby, formerly of WCCO-TV and currently of BringMeTheNews.com, is voicing the title character in "Paul Bunyan" April 26-27 at the Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis.

The show is being presented by the VocalEssence Chorus and Ensemble Singers and a 41-piece orchestra. In addition to Shelby, "Paul Bunyan" will also feature famed balladeer Pop Wagner as the folksinger narrator.

The VocalEssence production is in commemoration of the 100th anniversary year of Benjamin Britten's birth, and is a recreation of their beloved 1987 semi-staged production of Britten's operetta, "Paul Bunyan."

Tickets for the show run from $23.50 to $45.50.
