Drake and Future coming to Xcel Energy Center this summer

Drake is coming to Minnesota this summer.

The rapper-singer-songwriter, who is going on tour with Future, will kick of his North American tour in July, and will make a stop at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Sunday, July 24.

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon on Ticketmaster's website here, or you can buy them at the arena's box office.

The Star Tribune says the tour is one of the biggest of the summer, noting Drake currently has four of the top five songs on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop songs chart.

Drake is set to release his newest album – "View" – on Friday, featuring the lead single "Hotline Bling," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, an email news release said.

Drake and Future released a collaborative album, "What a Time to Be Alive," last year.

This is Drake's second time headlining a major show in the Twin Cities, the Star Tribune notes. While Future will be in Minnesota twice this summer – he's one of the top acts at the Soundset festival on May 29.
