How to drink with Santas galore for a good cause

Expect live reindeer, carol-oke, and drunken gift wrapping contests at the St. Paul Santa Crawl.

Tis the weekend to grab your Santa hat and ugliest holiday sweater and get tipsy with a bunch of other Minnesotans.

From the minds behind the annual Zombie Pub Crawl, the St. Paul Santa Crawl hits seven bars around the city on Saturday. Organizers joke that it's "just like ZPC, but instead of blood it's full of joy."

How it works: For $20, Santa's merry sleigh (aka a party bus) will shuttle you to Eagle Street Grille, O'Gara's Bar, Shamrocks, and four more stops.

Each bar has activities planned, including a puppy kissing booth, carol-oke, drunken Christmas gift wrapping contests, and a costume contest.

"As long as it's in the spirit of the holiday, you can wear whatever you want! Just make sure the naughty bits are nice and covered," the website says.

In addition to drink specials for all Santa Crawlers, if you bring a new and unwrapped toy for a good boy or girl, you'll get a free drink token. All toys will be donated to Toys for Tots.

The night kicks off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, with buses running until midnight.

If you pick up your wristband at Ragstock ahead of time, you can start at any bar you want – the party buses will be running in a circuit all night long. (If you don't have a wristband, you'll need to start at O'Gara's.)
