"Cinderella" Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes from Eagan is teaming up with an Oscar-winning actor for her next Broadway role.

Variety reports Osnes has been cast opposite "Amadeus" Best Actor Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham in "The Threepenny Opera" for the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City.

Previews for "The Threepenny Opera" begin March 12, and the show runs through May 4.

Osnes, who earned a Best Actress in a Musical Tony Award nomination for playing the title role in "Cinderella" last year, ends her year-long run in the role this month. She reflected on her time in the production in a Broadway.com interview Tuesday.

Asked for three words to describe her time on the production, Osnes said, "Joyful. Magical. Rigorous."

Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen will take over for Osnes in "Cinderella" in February for a 12-week run.

Osnes' local theater credits include performances at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Children's Theatre Company and the Guthrie.

Osnes' "Cinderella" Tony nomination last year was her second, following a Best Actress in a Musical nod for “Bonnie and Clyde” in 2012.

The singer-actress made her Broadway debut as Sandy in “Grease,” after winning NBC’s 2006 reality competition “Grease: You’re the One That I Want.”
