The songs of Minnesota music legend Prince will be the focus of a tribute by more than 20 acts Thursday night at a benefit concert in New York City.

Dubbed "The Music of Prince at Carnegie Hall," the show will feature the likes of Elvis Costello, D'Angelo and The Blind Boys of Alabama.

The New York Times reports that the concert will raise money for various music education organizations.

Also performing at the event is Princess -- the Prince cover band featuring comedy actress Maya Rudolph and her college friend, Gretchen Lieberum -- which will also play at Bobby Z's 2nd Benefit 2 Celebrate Life concert Saturday night at First Avenue in Minneapolis.

The house band for the event is The Roots -- the house band on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

Prince made headlines not only for his smashing performance on Fallon's show last Friday, but caused a stir for borrowing and damaging Roots guitarist Kirk Douglas' prized guitar.
